If you will be flying into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport for the meeting, the Holiday Inn provides free shuttle service to and from the airport.  It circulates every 20 minutes – look for a bus with “Holiday Inn” and “Fresh Kitchen” on it.

PARKING

Parking is available at Howard Center located at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Bryant street NW (http://auxiliary.howard.edu/parking-lot-locations.html). It costs $10 to park all day. Conference participants will pay in the parking lot at the entrance before they are allowed to park. They will be given receipts that they can use for reimbursements etc.

Also, there are lots of street parking by meters for short term parking. However, one has to feed the meter etc.

Public Transportation Directions:

To Howard University:

Get off at the Shaw-Howard metro station and walk north on Georgia Avenue about 10 minutes until you reach the McDonald’s and then take a left into the next parking lot.

If one is coming to Howard from Silver Spring Maryland, instead of taking the metro train, another alternative is to take the 79 (express) bus. The bus stops at Howard University.

From Holiday Inn to Howard University:

Take hotel shuttle or walk .6 miles, approx. 10 minutes, to metro station. Take the yellow line to Mount Vernon Square and exit at L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station and then switch to the green line to College Park/U of MD and then exit at Shaw-Howard Univ Metro Station.  Walk north on Georgia Avenue .6 miles, about 10 minutes, until you reach the McDonald’s and then take a left into the next parking lot.
